Shields protect ASJ and support blocking at hanger locations. IC manufactures custom insulation shields to be as robust as they are reliable. Galvanized steel (stainless available) made in various configurations including straight, with flare, or with rib & flare options available on most. Flares add a level of protection for jacket or cladding. Ribs aid installation by ensuring shields are centered and retained in the hanger. Shield Types

Rib & Flare

  • Flared ends and ribs formed into each part
  • Flared ends prevent damage to the ASJ vapor barrier
  • Ribs aid in the alignment of the shield (ensures shield is centered directly below the hanger) and prevents shield from slipping out of place with pipe movement

Flared

  • Flared ends formed into each part and prevent damage to the ASJ vapor barrier

No Flare

  • Some shields are not available with rib or flare options

MSS Series

  • Custom sizes available conforming with ANSI/MSS-SP-58 (Type 40) and ANSI/MSS-SP-69
